This week Hyundai announced the next generation Tucson (codenamed NX5). The new Vehicle is a Huge departure from current generation models, sporting a chiseled design Hyundai is calling “Art Of Steel”. While the design is certainly divisive one question still remains What can we expect?
Lots of screens

The New Tucson is pictured as having two large screen in the cabin. the center most screen measuring up to nearly 18 inches making it significantly larger than the outgoing models 12.3 inch screen. on top of that it features a 10 inch Heads up style gauge cluster mounted high on the dashboard. all of this is brought together by a sculpted retro-future interior and what seems to be like not one, but two Wireless phone chargers.
A New Hybrid System
The new Tucson is expected to be up on power. Hyundai’s next generation Hybrid system is rumored to be a dual motor system that pumps more power to the Tucson’s wheels giving both a more powerful launch but also better overall pep even despite the Tucson’s increased size. The Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is also expected to return this time with up to 100Kms (63 miles) of all electric range. This will make the new Tucson PHEV a class leader in range and efficiency.
Expected launch? Pricing?
The All-new Tucson is expected to launch in Korea in late Q4 of this year with a North American launch expected sometime in the first half of 2027. We at RoadRunner expect units to hit showrooms across Canada in late March to early April. Of course the topic of pricing is a bit touchier. while Hyundai has not officially announced pricing in any market yet, We expect it to be a few thousand dollars more for each trim level currently offered. we expect the trims to go as follows.
Preferred – CAD $39,500
Preferred (with tech package) – CAD $41,500
XRT Hybrid (new for 2027) – CAD $46,000
Ultimate Hybrid – CAD $51,000
Ultimate plug-in Hybrid – CAD $55,000
While of course all of these prices are purely speculatory and subject to the world exploding tomorrow. our money is that the price ladder of this vehicle will be pretty similar to our expectations.
Did we miss anything? What do you expect in the new model?
